What Our Thoughts Are On Vaccinations

I always find it strange that when talking about vaccinations people usually fall on one of two sides. Pro vaccination and do as the CDC recommends or they are anti vaccinations. I'm not going to go into the pros and cons of both sides or into to much scientific studies for either side. But I wanted to share that there is a third option and a few reason why we choose it. We use an alternate vaccination schedule.  I will tell you that my husband and I did a lot of research on the matter before our son was born and both separately found out about this option. Brought it to each other and were both inboard with the idea instantly. We continued researching until we found the information and schedule were decided on.

I would encourage parents to do thorough research before just going along with anything that is regulated and administered to your child. We are so careful to make sure we don't put anything into our bodies that can affect the baby while we are pregnant so why stop once they are born? A big thing I want to point out is that when we were children the amount of required vaccinations was around half of what is now included on the CDC vaccination schedule...Something to think about... Since I believe kids had less illness and problems "back in our day".

So I will give up some reasons that convinced us to go with an alternate schedule. There are many reasons we choose to do this but I'm only going to point out a few.

1 - Sometimes children can have a severe reaction to a vaccine and while on the CDC schedule sometimes four shots are given at once. Therefore if your child has a reaction you will have no idea which one they reacted to. With one ore two at a time this is much easier to asses. Will gets one shot per leg so we can better monitor him.

2- Pumping a large amount of live virus into a child can have harmful effects. I'm not going to go into this further because people get way to up in arms on what they believe. But the research is out there if you look for it so you can decide for yourself.

3 - We haven't allowed any Hepatitis A or B shots to be given. Or MMR for the same reason. MMR is know to be the hardest on the body and have the worst effects. There tiny bodies have a hard time with these. In our opinion the Hep A & B shots aren't needed yet. For the simple reason that these are transmitted through sex and drug use and well our son is involved in neither, rightfully so. And in case one might believe he could contract it some other strange way. He isn't going to an impoverished 3rd world country anytime soon and He isn't in daycare either where somehow someones blood will be ingested.

So to easy everyone's mind the alternate schedule we use will have William fully vaccinated before he starts school the main difference is that the shots are spread out and some are not administered until he is past an age where the dangers of live vaccines are at their most harmful.

Here is a link to the schedule we use this Vaccination Schedule  (Note: We use the top schedule)
There are several options out there this is just the one we follow and liked above others. I have yet to have a Doctor, or here of one, that has the ability to split up the MMR into separate Measles, Mumps, and Rubella shots. So we are going to wait on that until William is 5.

I don't expect all to agree with our choice, but I wanted to shed some light on an option that some might not be aware of. I also want to add that the two pediatricians that we have had and in different states are very supportive of our schedule. Both actually told me that they would probably do the same for their own children if they where the age mine is now.

Adventure to Lava Beds National Monument

This weekend our family made the relatively short drive to Lava Beds National Monument. Hopefully you can tell by the title that this was a interesting landscape that had been uniquely effected by a volcanic eruption. Lava flows and Caves are everywhere in this park. For more information on its history visit Lava Beds National Monument. To find out about the Modoc Indians, the Modoc War, the volcanic activity and more.

So here are some of our great pics from the day. First we hiked through some enormous lava rocks to Captian Jack's Stronghold.

Then we stopped at the visitors center to have a picnic lunch, get some loaner flashlights and then we toured our first cave of the day. Mushpot Cave was awesome! We told William it was the bat cave! Sorry the pics are dark and grainy but we were in a cave not great lighting.

Next my mom and I where the only two who took the opportunity to go into Skull Cave which was pitch black, and extremely cold and went straight down 500ft.
Lastly we hiked to Symbol Bridge Cave to see the ancient Indian Pictographs.

Hope you enjoyed a glimpse into our adventure!

And here is a bonus pic of little man at the Memorial Day Parade!

Semi-Homemade FO-Reo Cupcakes

I recently made these and they came out really good. Thought I would share the recipe for my semi-homemade cupcakes.

Cupcakes:

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cups really good quality cocoa powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup hot coffee
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare muffin pan with cupcake liners.
In the bowl mix all dry ingredients.

In a separate bowl mix the coffee, milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Once mixed add to dry ingredients slowly and combine all together.

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter in each cupcake liner and bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 15 to 20 minutes. Then cool completely before frosting.

    Makes 24 cupcakes.
Now here is the not homemade part. I frosted mine with regular store bought vanilla frosting. Then crush a few store brand FO-Reo's and sprinkled on top before the frosting sets. Next top each cupcake with a whole cookie for decoration. Then Voella!

I also took these to a Mommy and Toddler Picnic and from the way the kids devoured their cupcakes I think they were a big hit!
Hope you all have a wonderful day perhaps filled with cupcakes!

    Sleepy Monkey Diaper Review!

William was lucky enough to have been sent a custom made cloth diaper from Lindsay of Sleepy Monkey Custom Creations. As you can see we have a very cute dinosaur pattern.

Ordering with Sleepy Monkey was very easy and fast. There are so many fabrics to choose from it is hard to decide. Every order is completely customized. This diaper is our first AIO, One Size, with Velcro. But the awesome bonus is it came with an added insert for triple absorption.

So far it has worked great! The only difference I see in this compared to my pocket diapers is it takes a bit longer to dry, but that is because the layers are built in and well therefore take a longer time to dry. I just let it air dry over night a bit longer.

I have had this diaper a few months now so it has been thoroughly tested. Even after countless washes it still looks brand new. I can't say enough about the craftsmanship of this diaper. It is made with the highest quality materials and is put together beautifully.

As you can see the fit around the legs is very good even on my very tall and slim legged toddler. William likes picking this diaper to wear because the pattern in his own words is "cooool".

If you are new or even well versed in cloth diapering and are thinking of ordering a few or an entire stash I would I courage you to check out Sleepy Monkey. Like I said everything is completely customized. So you can have any type made all snaps, Velcro, one size, or preset sizes. Even choose your absorption type and of course the cutest patterns. Did I mention she does more than just diapers too! Check out her site for more products.

This is a SAHM business so show your support for our other mothers!

For more information on ordering and such visit Sleepy Monkey Here. I'm sure Lindsay will hook you up!

    Recent Buys I'm Loving, May!

    Hello All,
I wanted to share some new products I'm loving! Now these might not be "new" products in that they didn't just entered the market, but they are somewhat new and I'm just now trying them and loving!

    Bell Plantation's PB2

I Love, Love, Love this stuff so yummy and it has no additives. It has 85% less fat calories than traditional peanut butter and is all natural. Two tablespoons is only 15 calories, HOLY COW! I am currently using this version with a the hint of chocolate and it is so good! I spread it on a whole grain toaster waffle and it's a quick breakfast for me. If you want a little more info on the product check out the nutrient facts HERE. You don't have to buy it from this website, you can find it in many stores like Walmart and Target or from other online retailers.

    Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer

I'm loving this because I am so bad at remembering to put on lotion. Since moving to the higher elevation my skin is so dry now. I have had to make a conscious effort to moisturize yet I rarely remembered before this product. But now I just spray this on after a shower and quickly rub it in. It smells good and I like how fast it is to apply and then go about my day.

Infusium 23 Miracle Therapy Leave-In Treatment Serum with Moringa Oil

I'm fairly sure this one has been out awhile but it is new to me. Due to the drier climate I live in the ends of my hair have become especially dry.  I have been using this about 2-3 times a week and it has really helped.  Like most women with long hair I don't wash it everyday. So this goes on after a good wash and condition.

I would love to here some suggestions of things to try and what you are really liking!

Adventure's in Pinterest: Blueberry Croissant Puff, Carrot Chips & Easter Eggs

Pinterest is such an awesome place for ideas and new recipes.  Here are some recent Pinterest trials that I ventured into and thought it would be fun to share how it went.

First was a really yummy and easy breakfast recipe.

    Blueberry Croissant Puff

This was not my own recipe so I will link it here

The only variation I made was to use Greek Yogurt instead of Cream Cheese. It came out fantastic. I would highly recommend this to everyone!

Here is a pic of how mine came out.

    Carrot Chips

Again this is not my own recipe.  Here is the Pin link.

I tried this seeming easy recipe for snack time.
And here is how mine turned out.

BIG FAIL!!! I want to try it again but I'm going to tweak the recipe and use non stick cooking spray instead to insure they get crispy.  These were either way to burnt or for lack of a better word soggy.

    Now for the Fun!

    Kool Aid Easter Eggs

This Easter we tried the Kool Aid egg dying technique.  For the most part our eggs came out so bright and it was so cheap! However we couldn't make a purple egg. Since our purple looked more black/grey my husband drew the the Batman symbol on one with a yellow crayon...hence the infamous Bat Egg.  My only big problem with this technique was even after drying the eggs over night once they hit the grass the dye started to come off onto our hands...  So if we do them again I will have to research how to "Water Proof" them.

You Know What Really Grinds My Gears #2

Well folks it's time for the second installment of  ""You Know What Really Grinds My Gears"

You can go check out the First Installment Here.

    - Grown Women (OR anyone over the age of 12) Wearing Little Bows Clips In Their Hair.
Not only do I think it just looks wrong. I can not for the life of me understand why you would want to make yourself look like a small little or baby girl.  Umm can someone say pedophilia issues or instead Daddy issues.  It's not hip and it's not cute.  I mean No one wants to see a 70 year old dressed like a 20 year old so why would you think a 20 year trying to be cutesy like a baby is attractive....IT's NOT.

    - People Who Just Walk Right Out Into Traffic
I think this probably ticks off a bunch of people. Excuse me why are you so important that you would risk causing an accident and hurt others just because you can't be bothered to wait your turn. Oh wait that's right you ARE better than everyone else, I forgot, please your highness do as you please.
Plus you know these people almost never use the crosswalk. To top if off they walk really slow and look at you like your the idiot with that smug look on their face and I should step off .  I know I'm not alone in thinking one of these days I'm just going to do it I so want to run this person over tight now. But no I would be the one in jail. Mean while this a**hole who is breaking the law would be suing me and sponging off it the rest of their life...

    - The rude neighbors who either plays rap music so loud and/or who parties at all times of the day and night.
Hey a**hole some people have to go to work. Some have kids who need to sleep or nap.  I don't appreciate being woken up at 3 AM to that and then have my baby start crying and not go back to sleep because they got scared.  Or for those that work really early in the morning who then only get 2-3 hours of sleep I'm sure they really appreciate it. Yeah Thanks! I'm all for having a great time but have some respect and thoughtfulness for others. I would start blasting Metal at 9 AM, since we know you don't get up until noon, but again trying to be the bigger person and not sink down to your level. But one of the these days I might lose it and don't be surprised if a brick comes through your window...

Alright enough rants from me for today. To all of you, go ahead and spill what "Grinds Your Gears."

My Homemade Vegetable Lasagna. So Good!

My Vegetable Lasagna is so good I had to share. I hope you try this one and tell me if you do. It's packed with lots of veggies, creamy goodness and I guarantee your taste buds will enjoy it.

You will need a Casserole dish or Large Pyrex dish.

Pasta: About 12-16 lasagna noddles depending on the size of your dish, cooked and ready to assemble. (I used Whole Wheat Lasagna Noodles)

    Cheeses:
    - 2 Cups Low Fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
    - 1 Cup of Grated Parisian Cheese

    Bread Crumbs:
    - 1/2 Cup Italian Style Bread Crumbs for the top.

    Filling:
    - 1 Diced Yellow Onion
    - 1 Cup Diced Carrots
    - 1 Cup Diced Celery
    - 3 cloves of Garlic
    - 1 or 2 Large Diced Zucchini or more if they are small
    - 1/2 Cup Sweet Corn (I prefer to use frozen)
    - 1/2 Cup Peas (Prefer Frozen)
    - 1 Cup Frozen Chopped Spinach or 2-3 cups fresh
    - 2 Tablespoons of EVOO
    - 1 Tablespoon of Italian Seasoning
    - 1 tsp of Mrs. Dash
    - Salt and Pepper to Taste

    Bechamel White Cream Sauce:
    - 4 Tablespoons Butter or Margarine
    - 1/4 Cup of Flour
    - 3 Cups of Milk
    - Salt and Pepper to Taste
    - 1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese (part of the above mentioned full Cup)

Begin by starting your water to boil Noodles.

Then Chop up all of your veggies and set aside. In a large pan heat EVOO on Medium High Heat, add Garlic then Onions, Celery and Carrots. These veggies are know as the Holy Trinity of Cooking! These are the first to cook because they take the longest. And make for a great flavor base. I want tender veggies not mushy ones so saute until onions are transparent.

After they cook a few minutes add your Zucchini, then the rest of the veggies. Add your Italian Seasoning, Mrs. Dash, Salt and Pepper cook about 10 minutes for all to become soft and for the flavors to come together. Turn off the heat and let cool.

Next dump pasta in boiling salted water. Cool to al dente, drain and cool so you can handle.

In a large sauce pan begin to melt butter on medium heat, and flour and make a rue. Once the paste has the flour cooked through. Whisk in the milk. Continue to whisk and incorporate Rue with milk. Sauce will slowly come together. Add 1/2 cup of Parmesan Cheese, Salt and Pepper and stir. Once it coats the back of a spoon turn off the heat.

    Assembly Time!
Start by coating the bottom of your pan with a little Bechamel. About 1/2 cup. This prevents sticking. Then layer 3-4 noodles. Use about 1/3 of the filling and spread over noodles. Pour about 1/3 of the left over Bechamel on top and them sprinkle about 1 handful of Mozzarella cheese on. Layer with more noodles and repeat until last layer is done. You should have a majority of the cheese left to really make the top cheesy. Last Sprinkle the Italian Bread Crumbs and 1/2 Cup of Parmesan cheese on top.

Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes.

Then let it cool a bit before serving. Feel free to add in different vegetable, like mushrooms, eggplant or any thing you have that you like.  The filling is so flexible that's one of the good things about it. Remove what you don't like and put more in of what you do.

    Bon Appetite!

    Healthy Carrot Cake Breakfast Muffins

I realized I hadn't posted a recipe since having William! I have a few on my previous blog. But decided I could start sharing some of my mommy recipes here. My son gets tired of the same old breakfast foods and lately he has really enjoyed the occasional breakfast muffin. I am always trying to get more vegetables in our diet and this one got him eating carrots for breakfast. Plus cutting done on oil and lots of sugar is also important for us. I use applesauce instead of oil and additional sugar along with egg substitute.

2 1/2 cups carrots shredded or chopped very fine
1/2 cup diced or crushed pineapple
    1/2 cup raisins
    1 cup wheat flour
    1/2 cup oats
1 egg or 1/4 cup egg substitute (Which is what I used to reduce calories)
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup of applesauce
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    pinch of salt

Combine all ingredients (I'm not a fussy baker throw it all into one bowl)
    Preheat oven to 350
Spoon into paper lined muffin pan
    Bake for 20 minutes

    Makes approx. 12 muffins

Hope you guys enjoy them as much as we did. And I will try and put up more recipes in the future.

    My Nursing Journey & Beliefs

A good friend of this blog asked me to write my story on breastfeeding.  She knows I have nursed William past the 1 year mark and still continue to nurse still at almost 18 months.  I don't know if this will help anyone but I am sure it might insult or offend people.  I feel very strongly on the issue of breastfeeding. However most of the comments I could foresee or have already heard aren't really rooted in my experience but in their own lack of experience and/or guilt of not nursing their own child.  This is not going to be about all the benefits of breastfeeding because I think everyone already knows them and why its best. I have been compiling my thoughts on my experience for a long while before actually sitting down to write this, so warning it will be long and it might even tick you off!

I'll start at the very beginning....

I knew before I was even pregnant I would nurse my babies. So while I was pregnant my husband and I tried to educate ourselves on the matter. We attended a nursing class, sought out resources and much more. I would encourage more mothers to do the same. However no amount of classes or advice actually prepares you fully for the real thing.  More on that later.  I discovered some interesting facts I would like to share now that I learned and I think might clear up some misconceptions. Here is where you might get upset...

1st   -  Over 99% of women are fully able to breastfeed their babies.. Therefore when I hear many excuses I just have to shake my head because unfortunately their reasons are usually wrong. For example I have heard "I just didn't make very much milk".  The reason for that has nothing to do with nature.  Nursing is a supply and demand operation. And yes in the beginning it is constant nursing, so yes it always seems like they are hungry.  So "I just couldn't fill him/her up" is also incorrect. I had a 10lb 12oz  22.5 inches long baby and guess what he was always hungry, and no I don't have huge boobs, it was all supply and demand.  It hurts and its a learning process but usually the reason women give up is in my opinion laziness and self-centeredness. Formula is made of chemicals and I am just not ok with pumping chemicals into my kid!

2nd- The other thing that gets over looked is how important it is to drink a ton of water and EAT! Your body goes through a huge shift after your child is born and will need calories to make nutritious milk and heal. So no dieting and worrying about losing your baby weight. It will not help just hinder. Nursing will burn a ton of weight off of you without doing anything extra. If you don't consume extra calories you will stop producing milk. I Literally had a stock pile of fruit cups and granola bars next to my bed the first few months and would shovel snacks down in the middle of the night while nursing.

There are more excuses I have heard and pretty much are all just that, excuses so that a person can feel better about their CHOICE.

So I will move on to tell you my story.

My Son was born at 40 weeks 2 days. I had a long drawn out labor which resulted in a C-section due to his large size.  In case you are wondering I didn't have any problems to cause a large baby, no diabetes or anything. I gained 35 lbs which was reasonable for me and my doctor. He was just a big baby. After he was born I began nursing about an hour later.  I requested to see lactation consultants while in the hospital to make sure I was doing everything right. She visited several times to check on us. My milk came in on day 3 and was so painful I was crying a lot.  I was already very emotional about his birth and was feeling like a failure for not being able to have a natural birth that I wanted, for being in pain,  and not understanding why I was reluctant before each nursing session and guilt I then felt for feeling that way.

The rest was amazing, I never let William out of my sight. He never slept anywhere but in my arms or on my chest the entire time we were in the hospital. I wanted to make sure our bonding was locked in. He continued to sleep on my chest for a week at home. So yes you can nurse successfully after a c-section. While I was pregnant my husband and I both decided that formula was just not nor would ever be an option. Therefore I would never allow it to be near us or offered.  I made that clear to the hospital staff. Even though I was told if my milk didn't come in soon they would need to supplement. Way to make me feel great huh?!?! But I told them my baby was in no way allowed to have formula.  That was that.

I was sent home on day 4. It was rough going at home, even with help. I was healing from surgery and nursing was so incredibly painful.  But I kept at it. I told myself this was mind over matter. I would count forwards to 10 and backwards over and over again to refocus my brain away from the pain until it would easy up.  Here is the hard truth... I continued to have pain for the entire first month.  So you figure hundreds of nursing session by then and all were painful.  I tried the creams, the pads, the ice and heat...still hurt like crazy.  Until one day it wasn't so bad, and was slowly easing up and then gone.

After sometime another curve ball came during a well baby check-up. William had a small case of thrush. Luckily I knew about thrush so when the doctor tried to put him on antibiotics I said no.  I was not willing to have him exposed to that at such a young age and possibly develop an intolerance so that future illnesses couldn't be treated.  This would happen again once more at another check-up.  It was not causing him any discomfort or problem so why pump this infant full of meds? I later figured out that the reason I had such pain nursing was because the baby and I had been passing the thrush back and forth to each other. Once I started airing out and not wearing a bra for a little while after nursing it cleared up on its own.  He got better and my pain went away. Wish someone would have suggested this to me instead of learning the hard way. I at least now know for the future.

I nursed exclusively until he started solids, and continued to as planned.  I was working part-time and was pumping too, incase you were wondering. So yes it can be done.

Now for more controversy.  Nursing your child to me means you have to be selfless.  When I was sick I took nothing for it. I didn't want to compromise my milk, supply, or anything else. So Yeah it sucked it took longer to get better but in my mind was worth it.  Interestingly while nursing a mothers immune system is boosted against illnesses so actually it prevents you from contracting a lot of things you might already be exposed to and yet don't get sick. So not only are antibodies in your milk helping to keep baby from getting sick it helps you too.  This sounds harsh but being a mother means sacrifice and If that means not taking aspirin, cold medication or whatever it was the best for HIM.

Also I don't believe in pump and dump.  Not only do I think its stupid to drink and go home to a small infant that might need you to have all of your faculties in case of an emergency. It means you will not be nursing and therefore the bonding experience is missed and can actually cause your baby to not want to nurse anymore. This also goes for leaving you child for an extended amount of time not being able to nurse and having a bottle given frequently instead.  I to this day have never left my baby for longer than a few hours.  It was a rule set in stone.  This meant while traveling and doing shows I either was there to sing and left or he came with us. I was not gone for anything longer than 3 hours. While I worked he was given 1 bottle and most of the time he refused it and would just wait until I got home. I nursed before I left and as soon as I got home. Even coming home for a break to nurse if needed.  William even came on a mini tour with us. I made it happen no matter what it took.  Where there is a will there is a way.

So here are some tips and tricks. After a while pumping didn't work, it just wasn't strong enough no matter the pump. Like I said he is a big guy and well you can figure out the rest.  So I hand expressed from the time he was 8 months old to a year.  I looked up how to's on YouTube and my Mom instructed me on how to as well. This was usually just for a few oz. to mix in with his baby cereal.

I was not a lucky Mom in the sleep department.  William didn't sleep through the night until he was 9 months old. And even after that when he would be teething he woke up.  But I learned to live with it and how to nurse laying down. I realized someday he wouldn't need me like this and someday he would be too big to hold and therefore it was a gift. Here is a great read for more info on nursing I found and frequently go back and re-read. The rest of the site is good for information as well.

From the time of 4 months to now he is on a pretty predictable schedule for nursing.  It made things easier for many reasons.  I would suggest noticing the patterns they set for themselves and going with it constantly and trying to not disrupt that.  It's really for your own benefit. William slept in a bassinet in our room until he was 4 months old. Then in his own room.  I would just venture to his room several times a night and nurse in my beloved rocking chair. P.S. I made my own Boppy Pillow, which actually did no good. A regular old pillow works best.

How is it now?  Well I can say that I never planned to actually nurse past the 1 year mark... It just happened to be this way.  I started to wean a little from the time he was 1 year old. But gradually food replaces milk anyways.  So by his birthday he nursed when he woke up, before each nap and at bed time.  I stopped the morning feed and just did sleep sessions. I waited about 2-3 weeks before taking another session away and replacing it with stories, songs, and cuddles.  For the last 4 months he has still wanted to nurse at night.  He knows it's his quiet time with mom and comforting.  I figured it's fine since it was not harmful and if anything he was getting a little immune/nutrient boost once a day.  Our doctor thinks its great and no one seems to mind since they don't really know.  I also decided that nursing him through the winter and sick season would be better for both of our healths. So here we are almost 18 months in and yes I do wonder when will my body be totally mine again. I've learned teeth and teething hurts us both, but love is greater. Plus cradling 25+lbs in your arms isn't easy yet I have super strong arms now. But in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter what my hardships were he matters most.

I was fortunate to have support from my Mom who nursed her babies and encouraged me along. My husband who thought it was the perfect natural way it should be. So I am lucky, but ultimately it was on me, I did it! I reached my goal and surpassed it. I have a healthy smart and great kid! I found that there is nothing more satisfying than knowing your body made food and nourishment for your child and they thrived and grew only from what your body made.

During this journey I have nursed in the strangest places like gas stations, recording studios, radio stations, hunched over a car-seat while someone was driving because stopping wasn't in the cards. I've nursed on a train, in a restaurant, many bathroom counters, a library, and several dressing rooms.  And it was all great and I would and will gladly do it again.

Trip to CA and the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary!

We went to California for the weekend to visit my Mom and one of our adventures took us to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary.
I would highly recommend this to anyone in that area. It is a smaller zoo with its inhabitants being all rescues from various situations. Tigers that were kept in deplorable conditions and others that might have been found injured and have now been saved. They have so many different animals including bears, wolves, cougars and more.
Each enclosure tells you about the animal and how it was helped or saved. So I hope they get many visitors to help keep this great place thriving! There is also a really neat little stream train you can ride just outside the main entrance.
    We really enjoyed our visit!

    Storytime At The Library

Today William and I went to the Library's infant/toddler Storytime. I have always wanted to take him but no matter where we have lived all of the times were during his morning nap. However now William is starting to transition out of his morning nap therefore letting us skip it somedays. So YAY we can finally join in on Storytime!
This kid loves books! He spent several minutes rearranging the baby books into different bins. It was really fun and we are finally getting out and meeting new people in our new town.
Plus we ran into some familiar faces from the park. It was a great FREE activity for us so we plan on being regulars now that Will is getting older.
Plus our local library has puzzles and other neat things for the kids to do. As a child going to the library was a fun trip we made often and I remember it being so exciting. We plan to keep that up with our children too. Hope you are all enjoying your day too!
